The Professional Editors Association of Vancouver Island (PEAVI) provides professional development, networking and support to editors in and around Victoria, British Columbia.
The Society for Technical Communication is a world-wide organization dedicated to serving the needs of professionals who deliver technical information to the public. Members include salaried and contract professionals working as technical writers, editors, managers, graphic designers and web developers. Membership benefits include access to special interest groups such as the Contracting and Independent Consulting Special Interest Group, a job bank, an online forum and monthly journals. The Canada West Coast chapter holds monthly meetings in Vancouver and offers regular professional development workshops. All events are open to members and non-members alike.
The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) includes more than 13,000 professional communicators worldwide from various backgrounds: corporate industry, government, non-profit, human resources, public relations and advertising. The BC Chapter has a membership of more than 300 professionals.
