Welcome to the British Columbia branch of Editors Canada!
Upcoming Events
- The next general meeting on November 19, 2025 will host Eliana West with a workshop for editors on relatable writing.
- After an active and interactive general meeting talk, Steve Colle is returning for our first seminar of the season on December 13, 2025: Editing the Art of Comic Book Lettering: an Introduction. If you’ve ever thought that what you’re reading, writing, or editing could be in a better font, this seminar is for you—where an artistic eye meets an editor’s nose for sniffing out what readers might misconstrue.
Recent Events
- The last general meeting was on October 15, 2025, where representatives of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) provided free tax advice for editing freelancers and small businesses.

Looking for an Editor?
A professional editor can supplement your regular staff, supervise a project from start to finish, or simply provide a few hours of expertise. Here’s how to find the editor you need:
- Contact the Editors BC job hotline coordinator at bchotline@editors.ca. Our hotline coordinator will broadcast your request to our 200+ branch members. An interested—and available—editor will then contact you. Please include as much detail as possible about your project and the type(s) of editing you’re looking for.
- Search Editors Canada’s Online Directory of Editors and contact the candidates you’re interested in directly.
More helpful advice can be found by taking a look at Editors Canada’s Hire an Editor page.
